Mariela Dreyfus is a distinguished Peruvian poet, essayist and translator. She received her doctorate in Latin American Literature from Columbia University, and teaches poetry and literary translation in the Creative Writing in Spanish Master’s Program at New York University. Dreyfus lives in New York City with her two sons.

Eileen O’Connor is a writer and translator. She translated the novel I Lived on Butterfly Hill (2014) by Marjorie Agosín and her translations of the Peruvian poet Blanca Varela’s Concierto animal (Animal Concert) are featured in Issue 16 of Mandorla: New Writing from the Americas (2013). She also translated the work of various contemporary Latin American poets for the Creative Writing in Spanish Series at New York University. She is writing her first novel.
