Yuyutsu Sharma is a Himalayan poet, currently a visiting poet at Columbia University
After decades of traveling around the globe as an itinerant poet, Yuyutsu Sharma has earned the respect and admiration of thousands of people all over the world. He continues to have access to prestigious platforms and venues in Asia, Western Europe, and North, Central, and South America where his works are promoted and enthusiastically purchased.
Sanskrit word for The Himalayas is ‘Devataatma’, the place where soul of the God lives. Yuyutsu would discuss the oral and folk traditions of the Himalayas and read his poems on his travels in three regions of the Himalayas –Everest, Annapurnas and Helambu. He will also do a PowerPoint presentation of my book, Nepal Trilogy with amazing panoramic b/w photos from German photographer, Andreas Stimm and discuss his evolution as a poet.
